Keith Mitchell makes yet another putter switch at Cognizant Classic
Keith Mitchell hasn’t been shy at experimenting with different putters to start 2026, and the 34-year-old has began the Florida swing with yet another new flatstick.
Mitchell, who has struggled mightily on the greens to begin the year, debuted a new Scotty Cameron blade last month, but switched to a 2018 limited-release putter from the Odyssey Exo lineup to end the week at Pebble Beach.
However, in round one of this week’s Cognizant Classic, Mitchell was spotted making another change, swapping out the Odyssey putter for a Scotty Cameron Kombi.
Our forum member, and now resident Keith Mitchell putter spotter, @HarrisSpanish noticed the switch in our forums, saying:
“As the self-appointed investigative reporter for Keith Mitchel’s putter situation, I am here to report that KM has started the Cognizant with a Scotty Cameron Kombi. This is a different Kombi than the one he played a few years back, and his third putter in the last 3 rounds.”

As you can see from the image, Mitchell is continuing the left-hand low putting method he implemented in his fourth round at Pebble Beach. Despite a strong start of 3-under par in Florida, Mitchell only ranked 68th for Strokes Gained: Putting on Thursday at the Cognizant.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

When Keith gets tired of trying to find magic in a putter, and really wants to make more putts, then EGOS is the answer.
