GolfWRXers blown away by KFT Pro Taylor Dickson’s clubhead at address
In our forums, our members have been reacting to the unusual clubhead address position employed by Taylor Dickson who just won the Korn Ferry Tour 2026 opener. WRXer ‘unskinnybop99’ kicks off the thread full of questions saying:
“Did anyone watch Taylor Dickson’s clubhead at address? The clubhead is 3-6 inches outside of the ball. Does anyone know why he does this? Promote in to out downswing?”
Check out the video of Taylor explaining the genesis of the position below:

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Hawkeye77: “If you Google you’ll find he says he just started doing some time ago and rolls with it, doesn’t really know why.”
- jimecherry: “Golfers do be superstitious, at the end of the day if it’s comfortable it works.”
- Chopper1986: “I think Luke Donald and Fuzzy Zoeller used to do this, but not to this extreme. I definitely remember Fuzzy used to address the ball pretty much at the hosel. I use it as a drill when I feel like my arms are disconnecting/throwing from my body. Addressing from the heel makes me really pull the arms into my body to avoid the sh**k! Again, not to the extreme Taylor uses by any means!!”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Single plane swing method, always address the ball off the heel about 6″ off the ball for all clubs (except putter). It works.
