Foresight introduces new QuadMax launch monitor

Published

on

Foresight today announced the successor to its GCQuad launch monitor: the QuadMax, which continues to leverage the company’s four-camera photometric capture system to deliver its wealth of data points while adding some notable features.

Foresight QuadMax launch monitor: What’s new, key technology

Customizable data display: “MyTiles,” allows users to personalize on-screen data, showing a player only what s/he wants to see. This was added in response to a request from teachers and students.

Internal memory capabilities: The unit can capture shot and session data (up to two billion shots!) on its internal memory to be transferred to the app later. This allows golfers to avoid the distraction of phones or tablets.

Extended data parameters: All the data points from GCQuad are available, as well as club closure rate, ball apex, descent angle, and ball offline from the target.

Swing speed measurement capabilities: Particularly useful for golfers engaged in speed training, QuadMax can measure a golfer’s swing speed without a ball being struck. This can even be used with a reflective marker-bearing speed training aid instead of a golf club.

Enhanced usability: Targeting ease of use, QuadMax features a new touchscreen display.

Improved battery life: QuadMax has a 15 percent larger battery that is also 15 percent lighter.

Regarding the development of QuadMax, Foresight Sports Co-President Jon Watters said: “2024 is a pivotal year for us in terms of delivering best-in-class technology to golfers. With QuadMax and our new simulation-focused Foresight Falcon launch monitors, we’re delivering the pinnacle of performance analysis in terms of accuracy, reliability, and build quality. Combining this with our SIM IN A BOX simulation and FSX software offerings, there isn’t an aspect of performance improvement or golf entertainment experiences where we aren’t leading.”

The QuadMax is available for purchase February, 2024. It will retail for $19,999.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
