‘They are legit!’ – What GolfWRXers are saying about Srixon’s ZX fairway woods
In our forums, our members have been discussing Srixon’s ZX fairway woods. WRXer ‘9IronIsCash’ is curious to see how our members have found the fairway woods, with some glowing reviews on the clubs coming in on our forums.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Landy: “I have the ZX 3 and 5 FW’s. The 3 is a rocket off the tee. Mid ball flight not high for a 3 wood. Also has the Fuji Speeder Evo VI. And I never use my 3 FW off the deck, only off the tee. As for the 5 FW it has a compact head and launches the ball nice and high without ballooning. I have the Fuji Speeder Evo V in this club, and it works great off the deck. Both feel and sound great, not load and feel the ball where it was struck on the face. I hope this helps. Stay safe.”
- over7par: “They’re legit. I’ve played the ZX 3W, and 7W and the 3W was a monster for me. Shape of the clubhead looks great behind the ball, and it feels explosive and powerful. Full disclosure, I did just sell my 3W, and the 7W is still up for sale, but it wasn’t because their performances were bad. The 7W just doesn’t fit into my gapping well, and I purchased a TaylorMade Stealth Plus Rocket 3W at 13.5 degrees, and it just blew the 3W away. I needed the extra distance at that loft; otherwise, I was keeping the ZX 3W. The ZX was longer than TSi2 for me.”
- minhjn: “Tried them all, and the ZX is my favorite 3 wood of the most recent offerings. The head is hot, and the ball flight and spin are perfect for my swing. I really like how much heel to toe camber there is on the face. The ZX beat out Epic Speed, SIM, and G425 LST.”
- mortimer: “Game ZX 3 wood 15. As some said, it is a rocket off the tee. Mid launch, low spin. Not the most forgiving fairway in the market but overall a great club.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
