Kevin Na signs equipment deal with Callaway; Gary Woodland to Wilson?
As always at this time of year, speculation and interest around the equipment changes of Tour professionals are rife. This week, however, any rumors surrounding Kevin Na’s future were put to bed, with the two-time winner on the PGA Tour revealing that he had signed with Callaway Golf.
Na had played the majority of 2018 without a club deal, after breaking his equipment ties with Titleist at the beginning of last year. However, the 35-year-old had been spotted during 2018 using Callaway’s Epic driver and sported a big smile when revealing his new deal with Callaway this week on Instagram. According to Titleist, Rose will continue to play the Pro V1x ball.
Na joins Justin Rose, who confirmed his switch to Honma this week, in being one of the first high profile players to announce their latest equipment deal for 2019.
The rumor mill continues to spin with regards to other players, and a post from the PGA Tour’s Instagram account showing Gary Woodland at this week’s Sentry Tournament of Champions wearing a Wilson Golf hat suggests that the 35-year-old may well be one of the next few in line to reveal his latest move.
Woodland experimented with a set of Wilson prototype blades at last month’s Hero World Challenge and judging by the shot taken of him in Kapalua this week; the clubs impressed Woodland.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
