A few weeks ago, GolfWRX spotted some new long-neck designs from Odyssey on the putting green of the PGA Tour. Not sure what to make of the “Giraffe Beam” flatsticks, our Resident Club Junkie offered his thoughts here. It turns out, we didn’t have to wait long for details with Odyssey announcing the long-necked lineup today.

Odyssey is bringing its second generation of long-neck putters stateside, after the concept first turned heads in Japan. These new models feature an extended “Giraffe Beam” crank hosel that allows for a face-balanced design while still offering the visual cues and angular look of a traditional crank hosel, which is ideal for players who like the appearance of offset without the associated toe hang.

Performance-wise, engineers incorporated Odyssey’s Ai-One insert, which uses Artificial Intelligence to craft intricate contouring on an aluminum backer co-molded with the brand’s iconic White Hot urethane face. The result is improved consistency in ball speed across the face, even on off-center strikes. An automotive-grade Panlite AI window offers a rare peek at the insert’s internal structure, while a copper PVD finish with subtle giraffe detailing gives the putter a unique look.

Jailbird Cruiser: “The Giraffe Beam Jailbird Cruiser is a classic Odyssey shape with our Versa alignment. This version has a longer crank hosel making it face balanced and best suited for golfers with minimal face rotation and arc. This Cruiser has a 400 gram head and is built at 38″ with a 17″ grip intended to be choked up on. This configuration makes this face balanced putter extremely stable. This putter features our Ai-One insert with an aluminum backer and White Hot urethane striking surface and our new SL 140 Stroke Lab steel shaft.”
