Callaway unveils new Elyte irons for 2025

Published

on

Callaway Golf has today introduced its new ‘Elyte’ irons for 2025 which arrive in in 4 models – Standard, X, HL (high launch) and Max Fast.

The Elyte irons are designed to promote exceptional ball speeds and forgiveness for every type of player.

Behind the new irons is an optimized Speed Frame construction and new Ai 10x Face that aims to deliver excellent ball speed, forgiveness, sound, and feel.

The new Speed Frame construction incorporates advanced design elements allowing for additional patented urethane microspheres designed to deliver exceptional sound and feel.

With more precise artificial intelligence, the Ai 10x Face bids to produce exceptionally fast ball speeds, tight dispersion, and optimized launch across the face. The tri-sole design features three distinct sections to ensure fast, smooth turf interaction.

A sharper leading edge and trailing edge chamfer allow for efficient entry and exit, while the mid-section is designed to offer enhanced forgiveness for consistent results from a variety of lies.

Elyte X

The Elyte X model utilizes a larger profile and cavity-back construction in a bid to provide maximum forgiveness.

With increased offset, sole width and topline thickness, the X model is ideal for golfers looking for distance, maximum forgiveness, and easy launch.

HL

The Elyte HL (High Launch) is perfectly suited for golfers who can benefit from a higher launch.

This model features more loft and an Ai face optimization designed to increase launch angle to both maximize carry distance and improve stopping power into greens.

Max Fast

Designed for golfers with moderate swing speeds, the Elyte Max Fast model utilizes an ultra-lightweight design and an Ai face optimized for fast ball speeds with high launch.

This model is designed to increase clubhead speed for maximized carry distance and improved stopping power into greens.

Elyte irons are available for a retail price of $900/stock 6-piece set and $150/club.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
