on

GolfWRX is proud to partner with 2nd Swing Golf to bring you this bi-monthly series “Trending @ Swing Golf.” 2nd Swing has more than 100,000 new and pre-swung golf clubs available in six store locations and online.

We’ll continue to bring you a roundup of some exciting finds from the golf equipment retailer — and these aren’t your standard bestsellers!

Let’s dig in to this edition of Trending @ 2nd Swing Golf.

Tour Issue Scotty Cameron Putters

2nd Swing says: Scotty Cameron is synonymous with superb putter craftsmanship. Over the years, he has designed some beauties that have stood the test of time. The collection of rare and tour-issue Scotty Cameron putters at 2nd Swing is quickly evolving. As it currently stands, the collection features several Circle T models, a Tour 009, and plenty more.

SkyTrak Personal Launch Monitor

2nd Swing says: The winter months are nearly here, and if you live in or near the Midwest or Northeast, it might be difficult to keep improving your game over the next few months. Now available at a terrific price, the SkyTrak Personal Launch Monitor can be easily set up at home and provides key information about each shot and allows you to play virtual golf.

Titleist T100 Irons

2nd Swing says: The most popular players irons in golf received another update in 2023. While the entire 2023 T-Series has been superb in the fitting bay, the T100 has performed the best for skilled golfers seeking soft feel and control. Dubbed as “the modern tour iron” by Titleist, the T100s also blend well with the T150 model for combo sets.

Mizuno ST-G 440 Driver

2nd Swing says: For the golfer seeking ultimate control, the ST-G driver comes in a compact clubhead shape at 440cc that promotes low spin and workability. Plus, the sliding weight tracks on the sole and the Quick Switch Hosel allow golfers to completely customize launch and spin to their liking.

L.A.B. Golf Putters

2nd Swing says: L.A.B. Golf has been delivering extremely high-MOI putter designs for some time now. While the designs may appear unorthodox at first glance, L.A.B. makes up for it by delivering exceptional performance through superb stability. If you find yourself missing putts due to slight mishits, a L.A.B. putter should be a strong consideration.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
