How many clubs are you changing, or have changed, for 2021 season? – GolfWRX discuss
In our forums, our members have been discussing club changes for 2021. WRXer ‘Jjfcpa’ kicks off the thread with what he has changed, saying:
“Driver – Mavrik to Big Bertha B21
Irons – Titleist T300’s to combo Apex 21 (standard and DCB)
Putter – Stroke Lab One to White Hot OG One
Fully transparency, the T300’s are solid, and I will be comparing them to the Apex for a few rounds, but just hitting them indoors in my hitting bay, the Apex’s are really good. The Big Bertha B21 seems like a solid pick, but I don’t have it yet so the verdict on which one gets in the bag is still uncertain. The White Hot OG One is just too nice, and I love the firmer insert not to put in the bag.”
And our members have been sharing what clubs they will be changing in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Larryd3: “Possibly changing out my irons, presently Titleist T200s and am looking at Ping G425 and Callaway Apex 21s.”
- EatDrinkRunLSU: “The Ping fairway woods and hybrids and Vokey wedges in my sig are new to my bag since January 1st. Waiting on delivery on a Ping G425 Max driver I was fitted for in late January.”
- Davidv: “Got a Cleveland Launcher HB Turbo driver and a Bettinardi Queen b6 putter. Looks like my Ping 710 irons are going to be keepers for a second season and for me that is something.”
- ChrisS_M_ith: “I got a TSi3 driver and 3wood. Everything else is staying the same. P790’s for the irons, Vokey wedges and Spider X putter. I did, however, get new shafts in my irons and wedges Px7.0 . And a cool new putter grip from sweetrollz.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

No changes but I am having my beloved Miura 1957 Series wedges (51,55,59) re-chromed and re-grooved. They’ll be pro shop new for only about the cost of one new OEM wedge.

Driver… started with mavrik and took it out for the epic flash… Took that out… Now using the ft-3 fusion. Seriously, no driver can push it out of my bag for long. I hit it longer and with more control than anything else.
