Forum Thread of the Day: “PGA Show 2019: Mizuno”
Today’s Forum Thread of the Day showcases all that Mizuno had to offer from Demo Day at the PGA Show. Currently, it’s the most popular of our PGA Show threads.
The products the Japanese company presented impressed many of our members, and here we’ll take a look at just some of the items our crew in Orlando snapped on Tuesday.
Concerning Mizuno’s Hot Metal Pro Irons, GolfWRX member cradd10 stated “Dear God. Be with all the sick people in the world and let those Mizuno Hot Metal Pros come in LEFT HANDED!!! Amen.”

While the new ST190 and ST190G Drivers impressed our member vman, who stated “Looking forward to testing the driver and HM pro irons, very nice at address…..good job Mizuno.”

Jayhawks221 was impressed by the woods, as well as Mizuno’s newest Golf Balls (Which we covered here) that will be hitting the U.S. market this March for the first ever time: “Mizuno golf balls?!! They are big in Asia, and I have a box! Also, those woods look awesome.”

For willseo, he’s seen enough and knows which driver will be in his bag in 2019, “The look of that ST190 driver at address just looks so clean and neat. I will have to buy one when it comes out.”

Here are a few more treats from the forum thread, but make sure to check it out in full to see all the photos our crew took.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
