15 Revealing photos from the 2015 U.S. Open
The U.S. Open at Chambers Bay is finally here. There’s been a lot of hype — and complaining from the players — about Chambers Bay, which will reportedly measure between 7,200 and 7,900 yards this week. And the conditions are firm, to say the least.
Some fans want to see players struggle during the U.S. Open, while others just want to see the best players in the world play their best golf.
I say kick their butts Chambers Bay, but that’s just one man’s opinion.

Let’s see what the photos showed us in this week’s Revealing Photos from 2015’s second major.
Spotted: A tree
See, Chambers Bay is just like a traditional, tree-lined U.S. Open set-up. What’s everyone complaining about?
Actually, maybe the players have a point…
Is this even legal? 546 yards sounds like a mid-length par 5 to me.
Easy two-putt from here
If you’re adept at 140-foot quintuple-breakers.
Sam Saunders had a Callaway ERC Fusion 3-wood in the bag
The carbon-fiber crown will live on for eternity.
A Tiger spotted out of his natural habitat
What’s he doing in the fairway?
Callaway’s U.S. Open-themed putter covers
With a bald-eagle that looks like he’s had one too many.
The Where’s Waldo crew
Not the best hiding spot.
No. 18 looks like an easy driving hole
Aside from all the bunkers and fescue.
Chambers Bay has a sink hole in the fairway
Oh, that’s a bunker? At least they provided steps for easy access to the sandy grave.
Woodland’s ankle-breaking driver swing
Gary Woodland, who averages more than 120 mph of club speed off the tee in 2015, has so much torque through the ball it looks like he crosses himself over.
The greens at Chambers Bay look quite small
Compared to a football field.
The look when you stand on the first tee at Chambers Bay
“What did I get myself into.”
If it’s as hard as the players are making it sound, this venue should make for an entertaining U.S. Open.
Graphite Design launched a new Tour AD M9003 shaft
Which will undoubtedly be referred to as “the red one.”
Patrick Reed’s Callaway X Forged swiss army knife
Play golf with the 16-degree 1-iron in the morning, slice and butter his bread during afternoon lunch. A great investment.
Just remember
At all times, the Most Interesting Man in Golf is somewhere puffing a cigar without a care.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
