Published

on

One thing that came out of last weeks Sony Open was a new kid on the block. Matt Every’s putter was the talk of the golf social network on line. So much Dustin Johnson tweeted this…

The putter that was being talked about was designed by David Kargetta. No plans to sell the putter for now. His putters were found at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Here is a picture of the other models on display there.

Haha. When I saw Matt putting with that I was in disbelief. This is a joke, right?

Maltby Golf has made something like this for years. Nothing new but it does hit the putt dead solid.

Bubba Dickerson had the same thing last time that I played with him.

That oversized rectangle would really square up the heel and toe to the whole or target line with your eye.

Got to be one of the most radical / no-stylish putters I’ve scene in a while. I guess the strokes will speak for the putter.

It’s called the Blackhawk. You can only get it by being fitted by a PGA pro. Price is $259 with any length shaft and any grip. The MOI is off the charts.

It’s the offspring of a floor sweeper and a fire poker.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
