What GolfWRXers are saying about Haywood’s CB/MB irons
In our forums, our members have been discussing Haywood’s CB/MB irons. WRXer ‘Connoisseur2’ is considering taking the plunge on the brand’s clubs and reaches out to fellow members for their experiences in our forum.
“I am considering ordering Haywood CB or a CB/MB combo set. Very interested in any insights on the performance and especially the turf interaction. Appreciate any insight!”
Here are a couple of posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Gr8Balls: “I’ve got a 4-PW MB set with DG120 x100’s on the way to me as of this morning, so I’ll be putting them through the gauntlet this weekend and report back. Putting them up against my current gamers PXG 0211st, and also have P7TW, Mizuno MP5, and Nike VR pro II’s for comparison. Love the design and look, hoping the feel and turf interaction match up.”
- nzio: “I play the 5-PW in the CBs with KBS TGI 90. The feel is very good and the dispersion is pretty good as is the price. Also they have great reviews. They also look good, but is a little to thick and clunky for my liking both in topline and size. I play in mostly soft conditions so I really need great turf interaction and these don’t go that well through the turf. I would imagine the MB’s might be better. I’m currently looking for something that goes through the turf better, but i’m loving the shafts so keeping those.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
