Titleist GTS 300 mini driver lands on USGA conforming list – GolfWRXers react (in-hand photos)
On Monday morning, Titleist’s GT300 mini driver landed on the USGA conforming list.
The club features front and back weighting, with a loft of 13-degrees and looks to be the successor to the brand’s GT280 mini driver.
The club comes in both right-handed and left-handed models, with the timing of the drop on the conforming list making it seem likely that we may see players put the club in play at this week’s Truist Championship at Quail Hollow.
Our tour photographer grabbed some photos of the new club on-site at Quail Hollow this morning:

Here’s what our members have been saying about the news in our forums, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- PowerCobra98: “Nice! I have the 280 mini and used it all last year. No issues with it but went and built myself a Thriver to mess around with and found it works better for my use case. Might buy this GTS 300 version though just because why not!”
- CPAPMachine: “Make an 11* version please!”
- B_of_H: “The GT280 is a great fairway wood. This is probably going to be an actual mini driver if I had to guess. The fact that so many of their staff opted for the 280+ was telling. “

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Really interested to see that they went into a slightly shallower profile compare to the GT 280. I really feel like the GT 280 had the most potential off the deck but with ow deep the face was… it made it tricky to get the strike height up above the first or second groove. made for a little low launch high spinner. Cant wait to give the GT 300 a try this year!
