Justin Rose joins McLaren Golf
On Monday morning, it was announced that Justin Rose had signed with McLaren Golf, making him the first professional that will play the brand’s clubs.

Speaking on the move, Rose said:
“From the beginning, this has been a passion project. I’ve had the opportunity to be involved from the outset – working with the team, testing the clubs and helping shape what they’ve become.
That level of involvement, combined with the standards McLaren brings to everything they do, made this an easy decision for me. I’m excited to put the clubs in play and watch the brand flourish.”
The Englishman, who is now also a brand ambassador for McLaren, is in action at this week’s Cadillac Championship.
Rose, who is a close friend of current Formula 1 champion Lando Norris, has been a regular at races over the years as a guest of McLaren. This week’s Cadillac Championship coincides with the return of F1 with the Miami Grand Prix.
McLaren Golf was teased a couple of months ago as a new venture that would aim to “push the boundaries of equipment design and manufacturing to unlock new levels of precision for golfers driven by the same endless pursuit of performance.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

I love Rose and MacLaren but I bet theses irons are way north of $2k for a set when they come to retail, given track record of the car company.
