Bryson DeChambeau testing mysterious new irons at LIV South Africa
In our forums, our members have been discussing what looks like a change of irons for Bryson DeChambeau. WRXer ‘Cmat92’ was quick to spot Bryson playing what appears to be different irons (branding covered with lead tape) than his usual Avodo Protos (photos via social), saying:
“Looks like Bryson is trying something else in South Africa. I wonder if they could potentially be Bettinardi after him putting their wedges in play.
Will be interesting to see what comes of this.”

And our members have been weighing in with their thoughts in response.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Pnwpingi210: “Looks like a Takomo.”
- BD57: “Bryson’s a tinkerer. I think he’s always looking for “better” and convinces himself pretty easily that it’s out there. In other words, he’d fit in here very well.”
- TheMoneyShot: “Wins last week and testing new irons this week. Gotta love it.”
- adamwon84: “Interesting, I wonder if they are still curved face or if he moved on from that.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

I don’t remember asking the Doosh to care about my opinion. The PGA Tour and their non existent BS re-entry policies are weak! Add phony to your list of nonsense! One by one, all those rats will return without a real penalty. What about the players that remained loyal? I’m sure they are just giddy to have the thief, Patrick Reed on the tee with ’em. The Tour is soft allowing all the greed crew members back on board! It’s disgusting. Who’s next?
