‘I’m not endorsed’ – Free agent Lydia Ko reveals major equipment changes for 2026
Lydia Ko is now an equipment free agent, making her club choices of interest to many.
The three-time major champion’s club deal with Japan’s Proto Concept ended last year, and now Ko gets her LPGA season underway this week at the HGV Tournament of Champions with a much changed setup.
Speaking ahead of the event, Ko told reporters about all of her club changes, including a significant one at the top of the bag with her driver, while stressing that she is not endorsed by any company to play their clubs.
Ko revealed this week that she will be playing Ping’s new G440 K in 2026 having switched it in over her trusty 430 10k driver from the same brand in the off-season.
“I upgraded my — I shouldn’t say upgraded, but changed into my 440K driver versus the 430 10k. It was a big move, which this too I’m not endorsed. I have no club deals. The 430 10k my coach said I almost have like an emotional attachment to this driver, so it was hard decision to make, but the numbers and the shot shapes that I’ve been seeing on the golf course with my new 440K has been great.”
In addition, Ko has added Titleist’s Vokey SM11 to her bag, saying:
“I have the new SM11 wedges, which I got last week, and I am not endorsed. I’m not endorsed. I truly believe the Vokey wedges are the best, so I just have those.”
Ko gets her season underway today at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
