L.A.B. Golf announces DF3i putters

Published

on

Today, L.A.B. Golf announced the integration of two of its design elements. Namely, outfitting its DF3 putters with an insert face. Per L.A.B., the latest release addresses feedback from golfers who appreciate the DF3’s performance but want a firmer feel at impact.

Like the DF3, the DF3i is milled from 6061 aircraft aluminum and features a fly-milled stainless-steel insert to deliver more responsive feedback and faster ball speeds while maintaining the company’s signature Lie Angle Balance technology.

“The DF3 is the putter that put us on the map,” said L.A.B. Golf Founder Sam Hahn. “The only real criticism we ever get about it is that to some it feels like the ball comes off a bit soft and slow. Adding the stainless insert for a firmer feel and slightly faster ball speeds will hopefully appeal to an even greater number of golfers looking for a couple extra long ones to fall!”

The stock model priced at $499, with custom versions starting at $599. Custom option includes L.A.B. Golf’s extensive personalization program, allowing golfers to select lie angle, length, putting style, head weight, head color, alignment markings, shaft, and grip.

The DF3i can be purchased now via the company’s website and will be available at authorized retailers worldwide starting February 27.

@golfwrx We checked out the new L.A.B. DF3i putter at PGA Show Demo Day. The DF3i’s insert should offer a slightly firmer feel and a more traditional sound while helping players gain better distance control. Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
