Spotted: TaylorMade Qi4D driver
This is a great time of year for gearheads as we get sneak peeks at what companies might be bringing out for 2026! This week, we spotted Luke Clanton at the 2025 RSM Classic with a new TaylorMade Qi4D driver in his bag.
The new TaylorMade Qi4D appears to be outfitted with a darker finish than the silver carbon fiber on the current Qi35 drivers and woods. I like the darker look, as it is sleek and stealthy, with dark blue and orange accents. The shape from address also looks to be a little more like the Qi35 LS than the larger footprint of the standard Qi35.
You can also see a little more slope in the shape from the hosel to the back of the driver. We see a little blue around the outside of the driver, and it looks like TaylorMade is matching the face with a dark blue. That means the face is again carbon fiber. Luke’s driver also has the reflective dots for a launch monitor attached to it.
From these photos, the biggest thing, for me, is the four movable weights on the sole and back of the driver. This looks to add a bunch of adjustability to the driver and pays homage to some iconic older R7 Quad products. This head seems to be using a combination of 14-gram and 4-gram weights to create a specific launch profile for Luke. I’m not sure what weight combinations we might see when this comes to retail.
Looking at the loft on the heel of the driver, and I don’t see any dots above the loft, so this looks to be a retail head and maybe not something tour only. A reshaped carbon fiber sole plate looks to force some more weight back and low in the head, where the two weights are to possibly increase stability and forgiveness. TaylorMade isn’t giving out any details yet on what is under the hood of the Qi4D nor has indicated any potential release date, so right now, everything is just pure speculation.

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Why did they put dots on the face? Did they get rid of the readable reflectors, or did those things not work properly on 35?? LOL
