New TaylorMade drivers hit USGA conforming list — and GolfWRXers react
On Monday morning, three new TaylorMade drivers landed on the USGA’s conforming list ahead of this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on the DP World Tour.
Similar to the Qi35 driver lineup segmentation, the three Qi4D drivers on this list are as follows:
- TaylorMade Qi4D
- TaylorMade Qi4D LS
- TaylorMade Qi4D Max
Per the list, the Qi4D comes in lofts ranging from eight to 12 degrees, the Qi4D LS in eight, nine, and 10.5 degree lofts, while the Max version includes lofts of nine, 10.5, and 12 degrees.
While we don’t yet know the tech details on the drivers — nor if this model will indeed be TaylorMade’s 2026 driver — but the QI4D appears to have a slightly smaller profile compared to the brand’s Qi35 model. The LS version contains two four-gram weights in the heel and toe of the sole, while the Max version features a 15-gram forward weight as well as a back weight port.
With the drivers hitting the USGA conforming list today, they are all eligible for players to play at this week’s tour events, and we’ll be keeping an eye on any pros putting the 4D in play.

In our forums, our members have been quick on the scene, sharing their thoughts and excitement over the new additions from TaylorMade.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- The Ultimate Hack: “Looks like core head is back to Qi10 size head.”
- redshirtgolfer: “Hmmm, interesting that they are doing Qi for a third year. Difference to Qi35 looks not that big.”
- FHall: “The core model now has the three weights and the LS two weights? Assume Rory is gaming one on the DP World Tour this week.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

The USGA needs to step in and put in a rule that states OEM’s can only introduce new equipment every 3 years. It seems like they are scamming the public with something new every year.

Been using AI to design their drivers for over 4 years now, if AI is so good how come it cannot get it perfect the first time? SO they are telling “Alexa” nice try with the driver, now try again, “Alexa” replies OK this year change the color and raise the price $50 that will make people think they are better.

Congrats, you’ve been chosen for the ‘Top 10’ of ridiculous comments (Rory, Scottie and Tommy are the judges)…

So sad.
Give us the sliding weight like it used to be in the M3 and throw in a few extra weights with it, especially if you’re going to charge this much
