I’ve yet to see a bad review of this driver… – GolfWRXers discuss

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Cobra’s DS Adapt Max K driver. WRXer ‘jjfcpa’ says that he’s “yet to see a bad review of this driver,” and reaches out to fellow members for their feedback in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • Lobber: “I gamed one for about 15 rounds and found it to be excellent in terms of looks, sound, distance and forgiveness.  I don’t have the best shaft for my swing in it right now but have still gotten excellent results.  It’s not overly draw biased and my usual miss – left hook – rarely occurs.  On the other hand I can’t think of more than one time when I blocked one right.  No launch monitor data but the runout I get once it hits the ground tells me it’s definitely low spin.  I am tinkering with different shafts to fine tune it. There are other threads and some good reviews on YouTube worth checking out.  I’d test it if interested.”
  • J-Walker: “Max K is very forgiving and long out of the middle of the face for me. I’m a higher spin player, so shots out of the other parts of the face are a little too high spinning for me. I’m in the 110 mph range with most drivers, give or take a little. I’ve tried a bunch of shafts with it. Graphite design tour AD–VF is the best combo on this driver head for me so far. I do tend to hit the LS head in this lineup further with better spin numbers overall and similar forgiveness. It is better for me than the Max K when I don’t catch the center of the face. Overall, I am super impressed with this lineup of DS-Adapt drivers. My favorite lineup on the market right now. The QI35 lineup is next in line for me. And right behind that is the Callaway Elyte.”
  • gmyers22: “Well the Honeymoon continues. Hit 12 of 14 fairways and had my best round of the year yesterday. That wasn’t hard as my game has been brutal this year but driving it straight really helped. I also put new Irons in the bag last week. Hopefully it continues as I tee off in 2 hours.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
