Spotted: Srixon ZXi LS mini driver
We always love going through WITB photos and seeing if we can spot something new or special. This week, the FedEx St. Jude is delivering. Taylor Pendrith has a Srixon ZXi LS mini driver in his bag this week, which we had previously only seen on the USGA conforming list. The mini looks exactly like you think: a smaller version of the current ZXi LS driver that has been making waves for Srixon.
The head is a very traditional 13.5 degrees and features the same twin weights on the sole that its full-size driver sibling has. There is an adjustable hosel that will allow the loft to go up or down 1.5 degrees and change the lie angle by two degrees upright or flat. Taylor looks to have gone with the heavier 14-gram weight up front and six grams in the rear for possibly some spin reduction.
We see that the face has a little more going on compared to the standard driver, but it does have I-Flex etched into the toe area. I-Flex is a variable-thickness face technology that Srixon uses to increase ball speed across the entire face. A carbon fiber crown is also visible through the matte finish that will remove glare on even the sunniest days. I really like the shape as it looks to have a little more slope coming from the heel, giving it a more traditional look to my eye. We don’t see any markings that reference the size of this mini driver, but from the photos, it looks just a touch on the larger size.
There is no word from Srixon on any of the details of the ZXi LS mini driver, yet so we don’t know if there will be additional lofts or what technology is under the hood. For now, we can just cross our fingers and hope it eventually makes its way to retail.

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
