Cobra Golf launches new Limit3D putters

Published

on

Cobra Golf has today announced the launch of the new Limit3D putters.

In collaboration with HP, the new Limit3D putters feature a revolutionary one-piece 3D printed construction. This design, unattainable through traditional casting or forging methods, eliminates the need for drilled pockets or lightweight soleplates, which can compromise sound and feel.

Each Limit3D putter is meticulously 3D printed from 316L stainless steel, incorporating intricate lattice structures to optimize weight distribution and enhance performance. The result is designed to offer superior sound and feel, higher Moment of Inertia (MOI), and increased stability on off-center hits.

“As leaders in technology and innovation, we recognized the potential of 3D printing to create more advanced products. The impressive performance gains of the Limit3D irons made it an easy decision to apply the same technology to putters. We are excited to introduce these new models and believe players will be impressed by their performance.” – Chad DeHart, Sr. Product Line Manager at Cobra Golf

The new Limit3D putters undergo CNC machining during the finishing process, in a bid to ensure premium aesthetics and Tour-caliber precision. They feature LA Golf’s proprietary Descending Loft Technology, which utilizes four descending lofts (4°, 3°, 2°, 1°) to mitigate delofting and the addition of loft at impact, in design to provide optimal launch for excellent end-over-end roll performance.

Enzo

The Enzo model is a high MOI mallet available in two versions: the Enzo and the Enzo-30.

The Enzo features a single-bend shaft with a face-balanced design and a ½ shaft offset, while the Enzo-30 features a small slant neck, delivering a 30-degree toe hang and ¾ shaft offset. Due to its complex, high-MOI design, the Enzo is manufactured in collaboration with HP, utilizing their Metal Jet 3D Printing technology.

Pista

The Pista model is a traditional blade shape built using a Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) process and is available in two versions: the Pista-45 and the Pista-60.

The Pista-45 features a plumber’s neck hosel with a 45-degree toe hang and full shaft offset, while the Pista-60 features a small flow neck, 60-degree toe hang, and 1/2 shaft offset.

Both the Enzo and Pista models come standard with KBS CT Tour Putter 120 shafts and SuperStroke Zenergy 2.0PT grips. Only 500 units of each new Limit3D putter model ($599 each) are available for purchase online and at select retailers.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
