Golf Pride announces Align Max grips

Published

on

First spotted by GolfWRX on the PGA Tour at the Sentry Open in January, Golf Pride has today announced its Align Max grips are coming to retail.

The company is taking its popular Align line of grips further, er, higher, with an even more pronounced reminder rib in the grip in response to player feedback.

Golf Pride Align Max grips: Ket technology

  • 25% higher ridge: A more pronounced ridge than the original Align, offering a heightened feel for better grip consistency.
  • Extended ridge length: Runs from top to bottom, allowing flexibility in hand placement for various shot types.
  • Greater ease of consistent hand placement: Conforms to the natural contours of the hand, promoting repeatable grip positioning.

“Our brand purpose is to design grips for the hands of all golfers that will inspire a feeling of confidence so they can perform their best,” says James Ledford, President of Golf Pride. “With Align Max we reached new heights of what is possible in grip design, resulting in breakthrough technology that provides golfers the confidence their hands are in the right place every shot, for unparalleled consistency.”

As Golf Pride is keen to note in its press release, Harris English won the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open with Align Max grips in play.

Pricing, specs, availability

Align Max is offered in MCC and MCC Plus4 models in both standard and midsize. In stores and online starting February 15. $14.99/grip.

Why can’t they just make a tour velvet plus 4 with max alignment and am all black cp2 wrap 360. And go back to the original feeling tour wrap grip.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
