Mitsubishi launches Diamana RB to complete the Diamana lineup
Mitsubishi’s Diamana shafts have been one of the most iconic in golf dating back 25 years to the original versions. Those original Diamana shafts were released back in Hawaii and started the “board” series that is now in its 6th generation. We got the WB (White Board) and BB (Blue Board) back in 2024 and to start off 2025 Mitsubishi is giving us the RB (Red Board.

The Mitsubishi Diamana RB is the highest launching shaft in the lineup as well as the highest spinning. Even though the RB is the highest launching and spinning, it by no means is a “soft” shaft that only slower swing speed players will benefit from. Like its WB and BB siblings, the RB is offered in a ton of weights and flexes from the 43 series all the way to 83 and from R2 to TX stiff flexes. The shaft profile is classic Red Board with an active tip for that higher launch and that hasn’t been available since the 2nd generation Red Board.

Mitsubishi also included the latest carbon technology in the RB to ensure stability and great feel. Xlink Tech Resin System is used to reduce the amount of resin in the manufacturing process and create a strong, more durable shaft. The same 80-ton DIALEAD Pitch Fiber in the WB and BB shafts is used in the RB to add stability for all the weight and flex options. Increasing energy transfer is part of the RB shaft design and helped by that high-end 80-ton fiber. Mitsubishi also uses a high modulus 46-ton fiber sheets at different angles to control torque and maintain desired weights throughout the lineup.

Golfers looking for added launch without sacrificing accuracy or stability is who the new Diamana RB is designed for. Don’t be scared about the description of the launch and spin, you will see these out on the professional tours as well as in amateur bags.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
