Tour Edge unveils three new Exotics 725 Irons – including all-new Exotics X725 SGI design
Tour Edge has launched three new Exotics 725 Irons, including their highest ever MOI iron in the brand-new Super Game Improvement X725 design.
Exotics X725 Iron
“Extreme Forgiveness”

The X725 uses design elements inspired by the brand’s patented iron-wood technology, which includes heavy offset and draw enhancing tech. A shallow face is also featured on the X725 Iron.
With design cues taken from Tour Edge’s best-selling iron-wood designs, the X725 takes on draw enhancement with the company’s slice-fighting offset design. The shallow face on the X725 is designed to make it incredibly easy to get the ball up in the air while helping to maximise distance for slower to mid-tempo swingers.

The X725 irons extreme low-rearward CG position is produces an extremely high MOI and a deeper CG position, creating the brand;s highest ever MOI iron. In addition, the iron design boasts an optimally located CG, maximizing MOI, and aiding extreme stability and resistance to twisting at impact.
Vibrcor Technology
A high-grade TPU strategically injected into the deep 360-degree undercut pocket is designed to create this unique speed-inducing and feel-enhancing internal technology.

The X725 irons feature more Vibrcor in the clubhead to further enhance feel and create more speed. Vibrcor TPU is designed to significantly alter the feel of the clubhead, produce faster ball speed, dampen sound and shock, and create perimeter weighting around the entire clubhead for maximum forgiveness and power off the face.
3D Diamond Face
The new 3D Diamond Face is made up of new three-dimensional shapes of variable thickness located behind the face, bringing the face to life with full depth and height of the Diamond shapes being utilized. 3D Diamond Face coverage bids to removee additional weight from the face and dramatically increase ball speed on off-center hits while also greatly aiding forgiveness strikes to the extreme heel and toe of the clubhead.

There are 92 total diamond shapes featured on 3D Diamond Face, comprising of three different 3D thicknesses in an interweaving pattern. The mini-trampolines that make-up 3D Diamond Face is designed to create faster ball speeds and an expanded sweet spot, while the reduction in face thickness on the heel and toe adds forgiveness on mishits and dramatically increases ball speed on off-center hits.
Multi-Material Carbon and TPU Badge
A new badge in the back of the X725 is made of multi-materials consisting of carbon fiber and a high-elastic TPU. Additional stiffness is created by the multi-material badge for shock dampening, sound enhancement and weight savings for an ideal CG positioning with a perfected feel.

Sole Rail Heel/Toe Relief
Extreme heel and toe relief on the sole is achieved by addition of a heavy substance sole rail. This new sole rial lowers the CG in design to improve turf interaction for faster speed at impact.

Exotics E725 Iron
“Maximum Forgiveness”

The E725 irons extreme low-rearward CG position, which is 10% lower in this design than previous models, produces an extremely high MOI and deeper CG position. The iron design boasts an optimally located CG, maximizing MOI, and aiding extreme stability and resistance to twisting at impact.
360-degrees Undercut Design

The design is one-piece, high-strength steel body with a 360-degree Undercut Design. It lowers the CG in design to produce a higher launch and increased face flexing, ball speed and overall distance across the entire face. The multi-material electroform cap now features carbon fiber for added perimeter weighting and improved feel.

In addition, the E725 iron features the same Vibrcor, 3D Diamond Face, Multi-Material Carbon, TPU Badge and Sole Rail Heel/ToeRelief featured in the brand’s X725 iron.

Exotics C725 Iron
“Distance for the discerning player”

A new 10% smaller clubhead with a shorter blade length and a significantly thinner topline and sole is featured on the C725 Player’s Distance iron. The design changes were implemented for players with a more discerning eye at address. In addition, the more classic players shape of the C725 features more traditional lofting from iron to iron.
The iron also features a 14-gram adjustable weight for perfected custom fitting. The adjustable weight provides more weight back in the clubhead and provides an 8-gram range for swing weighting to provide precise fitting for every swing type.

Hollow-Body Design
The Exotics C725 iron features a completely hollow-body design for the ultimate in perimeter weighting. This hollow-body iron design of the Exotics C725 iron aims to create the distance and forgiveness of a metal wood combined with the feel and control of a forged iron set through the ultimate perimeter weighting technique. The hollow body design allows for increased face flex, and the ability to have a thinner face and a deeper CG in a thin-sole iron design for greater forgiveness and playability in a player friendly design.

Military Grade Maraging Steel Face
A high-strength forged Military-Grade Maraging Steel Face is plasma-welded onto a 17-4 stainless steel body. This ultra-high-strength steel is used in aerospace, with applications including landing gear, helicopter undercarriages, slat tracks and rocket motor cases and other applications which require a high strength-to-weight material.
It allowed Tour Edge to produce a significantly thinner face, the thinnest in an Exotics iron to date. It also helped dramatically increase face flex across a greater surface area of the club face. The L-Cup Face acts as a hinge designed to improve accuracy and protect off-center ball speed.

Multi-Material Dampening + Carbon Fiber Badge
The C725 features a high-quality carbon fiber badge and a multi-material dampening weight utilized on the back of the iron. The multi-material dampening weight moved weight lower and further back in the clubhead and saved a significant amount of weight for an enhanced CG location. The TPU in the dampening weight is designed to create enhanced acoustics for a better feel and overall performance.
In addition, the C725 irons also include Vibrcor technology and a 3D Diamond Face.

Price: $142.99 each in graphite /$999.99 for 7-piece set in graphite; $128.99 each in steel /$899.99 for 7-piece set in steel

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
