TaylorMade launches TP5 and TP5x Stripe golf balls
Evidently, TaylorMade’s 360° ClearPath Alignment visual technology is selling. The company announced today it’s adding the Stripe design from its Tour Response balls to its flagship model with new TP5 and TP5x Stripe golf balls.
“The reason golfers have fallen in love with the 360° ClearPath Alignment Stripe is because it really allows them to lock in on their line from behind the ball. The immediate feedback about how the golf ball rolls is pivotal as well,” said TaylorMade’s Senior Director of Product Creation, Golf Balls, Michael Fox, Senior Director of Product Creation.
As a refresher, the Stripe is a 22-millimeter digital band wrapping around the center of the golf ball. It features a thin black line, designed to align with putter sightlines for ease of alignment. Per TaylorMade, this allows golfers to “align putts more accurately, consistently, and quickly.”
Added benefits of the Stripe design include the reveal of whether a ball has been putted squarely or not and an alignment aid on tee shots.
Per TaylorMade, Tommy Fleetwood, who currently games a TP5x Pix golf ball is testing the TP5x Stripe and Keita Nakajima is testing the TP5 Stripe.

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
