Best golf ball of 2023 (tour ball)
1. Titleist Pro V1 (23.01%)

What Titleist says: “Pro V1 is the optimal premium performance choice for most players, and the most played ball model in golf…Pro V1 has a softer feel, less spin and flatter trajectory than Pro V1x, which makes it the preferred model for players who like exceptionally long distance, the ability to flight shots, and score with precision and touch.”
2. Titleist Pro V1x (14.16%)

What Titleist says: “Pro V1x is the optimal premium performance choice for players looking for maximum distance, who need higher flight and more stopping power. Pro V1x is most frequently recommended for players with launch conditions that are naturally low in height and low in spin.”
3. Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash (7.3%)

What Titleist says: “Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash golf balls are designed for players seeking a high flight similar to Pro V1x with dramatically lower full swing spin and firmer feel.”
4. TaylorMade TP5x (5.53%)

What TaylorMade says: “At TaylorMade, life is all about golf and trying new things. Like the new TP5/TP5x and its better aerodynamics, improved green side spin and enhanced feel. When you try TP5/TP5x hitting more greens, saving that clutch par and outdriving your competition is a real possibility. So, just try it. What’s the best that could happen?”
5. Srixon Z-Star Diamond (5.09%)

What Srixon says: “To push the limits of your game, you need a ball with all the right ingredients. That’s why the entire Z-STAR Series was designed to deliver tour-level distance, control and feel, from tee to green. Starring a reformulated FastLayer DG Core and improved Spin Skin+ coating, you, too, can experience the formula trusted by Major Champions when wins are on the line.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
