Spotted: Hayden Buckley’s new Scotty Cameron Circle T Masterful+ “beached” putters

Published

on

We spotted Hayden Buckley with two new Scotty Cameron putters at the 2023 Valero Texas Open. Both putters are Scotty Cameron Circle T Masterful+ heads that look identical, except for one detail on the sole.

The heads both have a dull silver finish and the Select Cherry Bombs in the cavity and on the face. The face milling looks to be very shallow and that can give the putter a little firmer feel but more responsiveness.

The biggest difference in the putters is what you see on the sole, a small slot is cut just behind the face to change the feel and sound. This process is sometimes referred to as “beached” and you don’t see it near as much as you used to in putters. If you look closely the lines are in slightly different spots, one is further from the face than the other.

I think Buckley is testing them out to see what option gives him the feel and sound that he prefers. Both putters are shafted with Mitsubishi Diamana 135 2.0 graphite putter shafts and Super Stroke 1.0PT Zenergy putter grips.

Feel & Sound actually makes more putt?? Get a putter that just flat-out makes more putts. It’s called P&SI-EGOS and on ebay, and it is guaranteed…

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
