TaylorMade and Kith announce an extensive line of collaborative products (Stealth Plus drivers, “K-790” irons, apparel, and WAY more)
Meeting on the cutting edge of golf equipment and apparel, TaylorMade and Kith have partnered up on an extensive lineup of new products under the “Kith for TaylorMade” umbrella.
Included in the co-branded family are Stealth drivers, “K-790” irons, MG3 wedges, a Spider GT putter, a TP Soto putter, TP5 golf balls, gloves, tees, hat clips, ball markers, towels, golf bags, and a wide range of apparel products, such as wool varsity jackets, windshirts, hoodies, hats, polos, vests, socks, shorts and pants.

The apparel line features a distinctive new-age look combined with old-school inspirations, such as TaylorMade’s 80’s-style logo.
“The products we partnered with Kith to create are a result of the meshing of technological innovation and visual artistry to intersect style and performance in the game of golf,” said Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade’s Vice President of Product Creation. “The Kith team has an iconic design eye that collectively inspired us to create something unique for both Kith and TaylorMade consumers, many of whom are loyal to both of our brands. We’ve always been attracted to partnerships that allow us to reimagine what a golfer plays, wears and relies on and our relationship with Kith was born from a shared passion for the game of golf.”

As for the hard goods, TaylorMade has been collaborating with Kith for over a year prior to this announcement. While the technology featured in the equipment is the same as the current TaylorMade retail products, the colorways, designs and branding are distinct for this Kith series.
“The level of investment from both sides was so deep that we introduced the Kith team to our Stealth products over a year before they were launched to properly blend our visions together,” Bazzel said. “In that process, we saw Kith’s commitment to the authenticity and personality of our brand — they were intense in their appreciation for the performance of our products, while still being able to add their visual touch. When it came to apparel and accessories, we were excited to give Kith the freedom to stretch our brand into a new landscape of fashion. Together, we cohesively designed almost every aspect and brought to life an aesthetic to our products that elevates the reach of both Kith and TaylorMade.”
All of the Kith for TaylorMade products release on Friday, July 1 over on Kith’s website and all Kith shops at 11am est.
Let’s take a quick dive into each of the golf clubs in the new series.
Kith for TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver

TaylorMade’s standard Stealth Plus driver has an innovative red-colored TwistFace made from 60 layers of carbon, reducing weight by 40 percent compared to the previously used titanium material.
The Kith for TaylorMade version has the same technology, but a distinctly different black-and-gold colorway, featuring a Kith monogram crown, a Kith alignment aid, and pops of gold coloring throughout the design.
Selling for $650, the Kith for TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver comes stock with a branded Fujikura Ventus shaft and Lamkin grip, and it comes in 9 or 10.5 degree lofts.
Kith for TaylorMade K-790 irons

The irons are creatively named K-790, a play on TaylorMade’s usual retail design that’s called the P790. The K in K-790, as you may expect, stands for Kith.
Like TaylorMade’s P-790, the Kith versions also have hollow-bodied designs that are packed with SpeedFoam Air to increase distance and forgiveness. Each iron in the set (4-PW) showcases Kith monogram laser-etching on the back.
The K-790 irons will sell for $1500 per set, and they come stock with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue 105 Black Tour Issue S300 shafts and branded Lamkin grips.
Kith for TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 wedge

Kith for TaylorMade’s take on the Milled Grind 3 wedges (56 and 60 degrees) have Kith monogram laser-etching on the back, and they will sell for $150 per wedge.
Kith for TaylorMade Spider GT putter

The Kith for TaylorMade Spider GT has golden wings with gold accents, a stepless shaft, and a Kith-logoed SuperStroke grip. It will sell for $350.
Kith for TaylorMade TP Soto putter

The Kith for TaylorMade TP Soto has a gold-and-black colorway with golden weights and a Kith badge. The year “2011” is stamped on the back heel bumper to honor Kith’s founding year.

Equipment
Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Distasteful, gaudy nonsense marketed to the poors who waste their money on sneakers. Ugly as sin, but a wise business decision by TM to make a quick buck off the idiots.

Plastering your “brand” name all over things is tacky. It may be what the sneaker crowd considers “fashion” but it is far from “style”.

Ugly, gaudy crap that’s marketed to the poors who waste their money on sneakers. Business wise, likely a fine decision by TM but it looks hideous.
