New Titleist TSR drivers and fairways begin Tour seeding at Travelers Championship (In-hand Photos)

Published

on

Titleist’s new TSR drivers and fairways will be making their worldwide debut this week at the Travelers Championship.

Titleist Tour Representatives will be working with players over the next three days at TPC River Highlands, fitting them into the new TSR models and gathering their performance feedback.

Thursday’s opening round will mark the first opportunity for players to game the new TSR metalwoods in competition.

Per Titleist, “collaborating with the game’s best players throughout the R&D process, and then earning their final validation, is critical to the development of all high-performance Titleist golf equipment.”

We’ll be sure to keep an eye out to see what players tee it up this Thursday with the new drivers and fairway woods in the bag.

Check out more of our in-hand photos of the clubs here.

Indeed, but Titleist seem to be going with the line “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”

Looks like the TSR2 took that rear club weight design style that Cobra started with the F9 and Ping and TM have done recently with the G425 and Sims.

It looks like a joint venture with Tesla for the design…

Looks way better than Tesla’s Toyota like styling

No TSR4 at the release? The fans including me clearly showed the disappointment with such decision all over the forums and internet over the last two driver releases. Disregarding fans’ opinions like this again- this is disrespectful. The marketing director at Titleist, you are doing it wrong. I was a Titleist loyalist right up to this point, but no more. From this point on, I will not buy anything Titleist including your balls.

Love their simplicity. Titleist consistently puts out a sharp-looking, high-performing product.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
