Adam Scott changing irons for the Masters? – GolfWRXers discuss
Adam Scott and his Titleist 680 irons have been through a lot during the course of the Australian’s career, but could they be replaced this week at Augusta National?
Our eagle-eyed members have been speculating if so after spotting a photo of Scott from the Masters’ Twitter feed, with many believing that Scott’s bag now contains Titelist’s 620 irons.
You can judge for yourself from the following photos.

Here’s what some of our members have been saying in our forums:
- ProhectX_Mizuno: “Pretty big news if true. He’s been in the 680s forever.”
- Yoshifan151: “Looks like the 620s, which are some sweet irons but quite a big change if so. Curious as to why he might have changed or if he’s just testing them out.”
- Pepperturbo: “I heard he moved to 620 MBs – excellent decision. That said, I suspect Titleist may change the new series away from 620 design. 620MB and CBs were designed to be interchangeable. That may have taken a toll on playability for most people, hence marketability.”
If true, and it’s still very much an if, it would be one of the biggest equipment switches ahead of the year’s first major – with the Australian gaming the 680s almost exclusively since 2003. You can join the discussion on the potential switch in our forums here.
Stay tuned for our Tour Truck Report from Augusta National, which will be published later today.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
