Bettinardi signs Matthew Fitzpatrick to its Tour staff
Bettinardi Golf has unveiled the signing of Matthew Fitzpatrick who is the latest PGA Tour member to join the company’s staff.
The world number 22 finished second in Strokes Gained: Putting (+0.880) in 2020 and did so gaming Bettinardi’s DASS BB1 Flow Tour Dept. putter.

Per the company, Fitzpatrick’s specific face milling served as a large inspiration for the company and became the base of the newest Roll Control Face, found on the 2021 Studio Stock Series.
Specs:
- Model: DASS BB1 Flow Tour Dept.
- Weight: 345 grams
- Material: DASS (Double Aged Stainless Steel)
- Finish: Tour Blast/Glacier Black
- Face Milling: Prototype Roll Control Face
Speaking on the signing of Fitzpatrick, Robert Bettinardi said
“We couldn’t be more proud to have such a talented golfer to be a part of the Bettinardi Tour staff. It means the world to have a renowned professional like Matt trust the craftsmanship and quality of a Bettinardi in his hand on the biggest stage in golf. Matt’s trust in our company speaks volumes to our passion in crafting the world’s best putters with tight quality controls to meet the demands of the world’s best players.”
The ‘SUFC’ stamping on the Bettinardi putter reflects Fitzpatrick’s love for his hometown football club Sheffield United, as does the blades insignia in the club’s colors on the face of the flat-stick.

Fitzpatrick is joining a staff of many other PGA TOUR professionals, including Matt Kuchar and CJ Cup champion Jason Kokrak and will be playing the putter this week at the DP World Tour Championship.
“Adding Matthew Fitzpatrick to Team Bettinardi is absolutely huge for our brand and further proves that Bettinardi putters are second to none when it comes to quality and craftsmanship. Meeting the strict demands of arguably one of the best putters in the world is a true testament to Bettinardi Golf and our team of highly talented engineers who worked extremely hard to perfect a face milling and putter head that Matt requested,” – Executive Vice President Sam Bettinardi

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

I just love my GINA YES putter, I would never give this baby up, and you can still buy YES putters on eBay at very reasonable prices, mine was in mint condition £60, I refuse to pay extortionate prices of over £300 for a putter.

Bankrupcy in 2010, but they are coming back in 2021. I can’t wait, hoping they make some nice simple designs as they did in the past. Please no more of the yellow plastic putters or groove-tube junk…
