What GolfWRXers are saying about Titleist’s T200 irons

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing the performance of Titleist’s T200 irons. WRXer ‘SwooshLT’ reaches out for some feedback on the clubs and our members have been obliging with plenty of positive reviews of the irons.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • lmhitter: “I have them as part of a combo set with T100s. I am north of 60, 5 hcp at the moment, and carry the 7i about 158yds. I like them. Very good sole interaction with the turf, good profile for confidence with a classic shape. They don’t look too game improvement. They feel is great if you hit the center!”
  • bigd231: “I got fitted into the t200s 5-48° about 4 months ago, and they’ve been great, handicap has dropped from 20-15 in the same period. They’re fantastic sitting behind the ball, not too small to be intimidating but not too big that it’s off-putting. Plenty of forgiveness as well, I’ve hit plenty that barley it the grooves it’s that far out in the toe but have only lost 10-15 yards rather than 30+. I’m 26 and carry the 7 iron 160 yards. I originally had concerns that they might be too low spin and struggle to hold greens, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the relative stopping power through the whole set.”
  • Jjones519a: “I demoed them for 2 rounds. I didn’t like them at first but hit a ton of greens, so they grew on me. I play T100s which I love and don’t have trouble with from 5 down but would consider a t200 in the 3 and 4 irons maybe.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
