What GolfWRXers are saying about Bonobos golf clothing

Published

@bonobosgolf

In our forums, our members have been discussing Bonobos golf clothing after WRXer ‘rjp217’ dedicated a thread to the company after purchasing the brand’s ‘lightweight 5-pocket golf pants’. Per ‘rjp217’:

“These arrived yesterday, and I just have to say, wow, they’re tremendous. They’re super light, the cut is perfect, not too baggy or skin tight and the cuff opening is nice and small. Feels like I could easily get away with these in warmer golf weather and wear them to work, dinner, etc…

Anyhow, just a quick shoutout to Bonobos. Although it was risky to order a final sale/no return item in regard to size, worked out great for me. I’ll def be ordering again. It looks like they also have 20% military/teacher/student verification and 25% for referrals.”

Our members have been sharing their thoughts and experiences with the brand, with the vast majority being big fans of the products Bonobos produce.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • GolfChicago91: “Just got mine as well. Big fan so far. Light, comfy, and will be great for on the course or off. Looking forward to trying them. Fit is perfect, as well.”
  • mitts7: “Took advantage on some golf shorts as well. I wasn’t sure how they would be, but they ended up being perfect. Absolutely love the, will probably buy more. Good fit, good quality!”
  • Warrick: “I ordered the blue check and grey check in the Highland, $39 is a steal. They make nice stuff, have about ten pairs of golf pants, like the tech 5 pocket the best. They make nice dress clothes also, have some dress shirts, ties, a suit and top coat I got during the massive BF sale when they also did 20% cashback. If you find your size and fit, like having your own tailor.”
  • Wallstreet1978: “I’m a huge fan of bonobos. I’m short (5’5”) and I like that I can get a 28-inch inseam on the pants and more importantly 8-inch inseam in the shorts. I wish I knew of others that offered 8 inch in seams as well.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
