Forum Thread of the Day: “FlightScope’s upcoming Mevo+”
Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from enormous13 who opens up a discussion on FlightScope’s upcoming Mevo+. According to the PGA Merchandise Show’s website, the Mevo+ from FlightScope is billed as the following;
“FlightScope Mevo+ is a game-changing 3D Doppler Tracking Radar offering skills combines, golf course simulation, gamification and video capabilities in addition to its 15 accurate data parameters. Mevo+ gives golfers the versatility of indoor and outdoor practice and simulation capabilities with performance data they can trust for under $2,000.”
Our members have been discussing and speculating on the new technology with great anticipation.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- KC4441: “This product has me very intrigued. By the time fall/winter rolls back around this may be on my wish list. I tried the mevo and just thought it needed a little more; this may be it by the description.”
- bvmagic; “Can’t wait to see how the Mevo + will be. Hopefully cheaper than Skytrak.”
- aramirez24: “Can’t wait to see what all this thing can do. Closing on our new home at the end of the month and I already have the sim room picked out.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Ditto on the stickers. That alone eliminates its use on the range, and I’m not interested in dedicating a third of my garage to a simulator because of stickers.

Stickers? If so, no thanks.

If it still requires stickers, it’s useless. The old one was terrible at reading spin, and I never got it to work satisfactory without them. Wouldn’t pick up the yellow range balls at my main range at all.
