Forum Thread of the Day: “Mark O’Meara’s Scotty Cameron putter”
Today’s Forum Thread of the Day showcases Mark O’Meara’s Scotty Cameron flat-stick. The 62-year-old is teeing it up at the Senior PGA Championship from Oak Hill this week, and his putter has impressed our members, who in particular have praised the clean finish and sole shape of the flat-stick.

Here are what our members are saying about the putter, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- BearQ: “Clean. Love the sole.”
- Bdmac79: “Looks similar to Tiger’s and Rickie’s with the neck placement. I would guess that he’s had it for a bit.”
- mBiden2: “So fresh and so clean, clean!”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

From what I hear, Tiger had Scotty make him a putter just like Marks because he used it and like it. Then Ricky was at the Store and was having Scotty make him a putter and pulled out a putter that was made for Tiger as a back up and liked it so now he plays that. So they should be almost all identical except for the stamps. So in short, Marky had the OG Newport 2 GSS that got Tiger hooked and Ricky in turn lol. If I am not mistaken, Tiger and Mark where really close early in his career, I think he is the one that hooked him up with his babysitter ie.. Elin, his ex-wife lol.
