Special-edition 2018 PGA Championship Nike Golf shoes

Published

on

Spotted on the course during practice rounds this week, Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy have been wearing PGA Championship special-edition Lunar Command 2 shoes with hits of Blue Camo on the sole and the Swoosh.

While it hasn’t been confirmed whether those particular shoes will be available, it does appear Nike Golf is releasing a special-edition Tour-Premiere golf shoe that has the same Blue Camo accents, although in an all-white shoe in a different style.

The shoes reportedly go on sale August 8 for $200.

What do you think about the Bellerive/PGA Championship shoes from Nike?

Why do all Nike shoes buckle in the toe section instead of sitting and moving better like other brands (see the black shoe for reference). Almost like they give too much toe space. Admittedly I have narrower feet but they feel really awkward when I’ve tried them on.

Too much toe space? There’s nearly no such thing in golf shoes. Most are toe huggers, except for Sketchers and True Linkswear.

Jim, it just means you shouldn’t wear Nike. Simples. Why try? Nike makes ugly stuff anyway

Looks like the white shoes have a wrap-around ‘kiltie’ covering the laces. The black shoes have exposed laces. What gives?!!

I think those might be Nike Lunar Command 2 not Lunar Control 4, I could be wrong.

Remember when golf shoes were actually stylish, now they just feature oversized logos of the company…..advertising to the other sheeple to buy…bah bahhh!

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
