PGA Show 2018: Demo Day recap
GolfWRX has spikes on the ground in the Sunshine State for the 2018 PGA Merchandise Show. We’re also producing a buffet of content–particularly photos–that would put Golden Corral to shame.
Here’s a look at some of our coverage from the main page, forums, Twitter, and Instagram.
Starting with the front page, we ran stories on some new TaylorMade releases, including a P-790 UDI 2-iron and several new Spider putters (see the full article here).
Also on the flaststick front: We covered the launch of new Scotty Cameron Select Putters and Odyssey EXO Indianapolis, Seven, and Rossie putters.
Speaking of Callaway, we also profiled the launch of new Chrome Soft, Chrome Soft X, and Superhot balls. Plenty of buzz about the Chrome Soft’s graphene (the hardest substance in the world) core!
We also got a look at the new FootJoy Tour S shoes. Check out our writeup to learn about FJ’s new approach to stability in the golf shoe.
Returning to the equipment front, we got a look at vaunted Japanese clubmaker Miura’s full range of new offerings, including the MC (muscle cavity) irons. Check out our article for all the details.
GolfWRX also chatted with long-driver-turned-tour-pro Jamie Sadlowski (and new Cleveland-Srixon staffer) about what’s in his bag. See what Jamie had to say.
On the forum front, we have eight overflowing galleries from Demo Day.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

RED club is called the Bomb-It Mini Driver. It’s a training club to teach you how to hit the ball closer the center.

Could you guys take a look at Srixon and see if anybody is talking about new irons for 2018? I want to but a set but would be bummed if I did and they came out with new ones later this year.
