Pink versions of Titleist’s Pro V1 now available ahead of Mother’s Day 2017

Published

on

Still searching for a Mother’s Day present for Sunday, May 14? Titleist’s new pink-stamped Pro V1 golf balls may be your solution.

On its new stock offering, Titleist has substituted black ink for pink on the numbers and side “Pro V1” stamping. The changes are purely cosmetic, as all of the construction and performance benefits are exactly the same as its standard Pro V1 golf balls. PinkLogos

Coupled with the stock pink stampings, Titleist has also added pink logos to its My Pro V1 custom ordering system where you can personalize text and add logos. For the pink versions, golfers can only order “standard play” numbers, which are Nos. 1-4.

The pink Pro V1’s will also be available at authorized Titleist locations.

I think this is good idea. I had a “pink” dozen of ProV1s from 2015 and I can see it could be a standard offering for women or those who like pink. The pink writing is subtle and not so much in your face so even blokes can use it.

A pink number. That’s it? God forbid Titleist do something interesting like actually making a pink ball.

That’s what I was thinking, just make a Pink ball, it will sell. But sheeple will think this is amazing!

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
