Wie puts Rose Gold Toulon Memphis putter in play, in contention in Singapore
Last week, we spotted Michelle Wie at The Honda Classic leaving the premises with a Toulon Memphis putter. Apparently, she took a liking to the mallet putter. She put a Rose Gold version into play equipped with a SuperStroke grip at the HSBC Women’s Champions event in Singapore, and she’s is currently T2 (one shot back) of leader Inbee Park after two rounds.
In Round 1, Wie shot an opening-round 66 and was leading a tournament. She last held an LPGA Tour lead in 2014.

Along with the new putter, Wie is also employing a new, more upright putting stance. We’ll keep an eye on how the putter-putting stance combo works out for her throughout the tournament.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Just play and quit talking about this club or that putter or this driver. Too much credit goes to clubs. Can’t fix a bad stroke.

I really like Michelle. She always seems to work hard, she seems to have a good attitude about a lot of things, and she has taken a butt load of heat for simply being well…. Michelle Wie. I hope she finishes well this week. I’ve heard that those Toulon Design putter are the absolute truth. The putter line now days is a very stiff market to crack, we shall see how they do. A win would be big for Toulon.
