Project X launches HZRDUS T1100 shafts
Project X’s T1100 is currently one of the hottest shafts on the PGA Tour, as well the newest member of the company’s HZRDUS graphite shaft family — and starting today it’s available at a custom club fitter near year.
Project X’s Don Brown describes the T1100 shaft as “the ultimate spin killer for players with the most aggressive tempo.” The shafts get their name from the T1100G fiber used in their construction. Brown calls T1100G “the strongest fiber available,” and it’s used to create a stiff bend profile throughout each shaft that encourages a low-launching, low-spinning trajectory.
All T1100 shaft are handcrafted in the company’s R&D facility in San Diego with a counter-balanced design that allows golfers to add more club length or head weight to improve ball speed. They use what Project X calls an “ultra-premium brilliant, high reflective finish” that takes four days to apply.
Dustin Johnson, winner of this week’s Genesis Open and the No. 1-ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings, is currently using a tour-only, 95-gram version of the HZRDUS T1100 shaft in his 3 wood (See DJ’s full WITB).
The HZRDUS T1100 ($450 each) is currently available in two weights (65 and 75 grams) and three flexes: 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Yeah right, sign me and my 20 hdcp. up for the over 75 gram “Tour Only” version. I mean, me and
my internet warrior near tour swing needs all the carry I can get, especially with soggy fairways
as Riviera had. Got to keep up with D.J. when I play those back tees! These companies are killing
me these jillion dolls’ shafts for hacks like me! Where’s a 90’s era Callaway “firm” shaft when ya
need it? Good luck marketing these during fitting sessions!

Same materials as GD shafts. Really for 115 ss+ with a fast transition, so everyone on wrx needs one.
