Ping signs Tyrrell Hatton to multi-year deal
Tyrrell Hatton had a breakout year in 2016, climbing into the top 25 in the Official World Golf Rankings to earn his first trip to the Masters. His other major successes: a top-5 finish at the Open Championship, a top-10 at the PGA Championship and his first European Tour win at none other than St. Andrews, host of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The 25-year-old can now add another accomplishment to his growing resume: Ping Staffer. The Phoenix-based company has signed the Englishman to a multi-year, 11-club contract that will have him using a Ping driver and Ping putter. He’ll also wear a Ping hat and carry a Ping staff bag.
“Tyrrell has had an outstanding year and we’re delighted he’ll be representing Ping going forward,” said Ping Chairman and CEO John A. Solheim. “We’ve watched him very closely since he joined the European Tour two years ago, and we’ve been impressed with every aspect of his game.”
For his victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Hatton was using a Ping G driver (9.5 degrees), as well as Ping i irons (3-PW) and a Ping Vault Oslo putter.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

This is the reason Fitzpatrick is not a PING player, yet.
