Fujikura adds Black, Red profiles to the Ventus TR line for 2026
Fujikura launched the new Ventus TR Blue shaft, with VeloCore+, back in the earlier part of the year, and is now ready to expand the line with the addition of Ventus TR Black and Ventus TR Red. Both of these new models will feature Fujikura’s VeloCore+ technology. The lineup is now complete, with all three models available from your local fitter or a Fujikura Authorized Dealer.

The new Ventus TR Black is the low-launch, low-spin model, while the Ventus TR Red is going to be more mid/high launch with mid/low spin. Both shafts are built using spread tow carbon fiber fabric, like the originals, that is wrapped up near the grip area on both shafts. Adding spread tow was to reinforce that handle section so that players who load the shaft harder would have more control and accuracy with the shafts.
For 2026, Fujikura changed the carbon fiber orientation to a more zero-degree angle to make it slightly stiffer. VeloCore+ is used throughout the entire shaft, and that is Fujikura’s advanced, multi-material, bias core that controls the twisting of the shaft for more accurate shots and can help players make center contact more often.
“The moment we started testing and monitoring the performance data, we saw notable improvements across the board – a more consistent strike pattern, better centeredness of contact and, for many players, greater clubhead and ball speed. We’ve kept what golfers already love about Black and Red, but taken the performance to a new level.” -TJ Spidle

Ventus TR Black
This is the stiffest profile shaft in Fujikura’s lineup. It is built with an ultra-stiff handle section, a stiff mid, and an ultra-stiff tip section. The stiff structure gives golfers the lowest launch and lowest spin in the Fujikura shaft lineup, but you should still work with your fitter to ensure this shaft works for you.

Ventus TR Red
If you are looking for some added launch while not sacrificing stability, then TR Red might be for your swing. Ventus TR Red offers a mid/high launch with mid/low spin from its softer tip section. The EI profile offers you an ultra-stiff handle section with a stiff mid and tip. This shaft will give you a little more feel of the shaft kicking down low, while the upper part is stiff and stable.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
