4/5-woods that are anti-left
In our forums, our members have been discussing 4/5-woods that are anti-left. WRXer ‘StoutKing’ is currently gaming a Rogue ST LS 5-wood which he calls a “rocket,” but is having issues with a left miss, saying:
“I’m currently gaming a Rogue ST LS 5-wood. The club is a rocket. The problem is it’s the only wood in my bag that goes left. It’s probably costing me 1.5 shots a round on reachable par 5s. Since it’s not adjustable I don’t think there’s much I can do with it. My question is – do you have a recommendation for a 4-5 wood that is anti-left? I’d love to game something more controllable.”
And our members have been sharing their suggestions in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Hougz79: “Adjustable hosel will be key in my opinion. Ping, Titleist, TM are all very valid options. IMO TM fairways are nearly impossible to beat, but it’s hard to argue with Titleist’s Sure-Fit system for adjustability for loft and lie. My Qi35 5W has been laser straight for me.”
- Kacy: “I primarily hit a draw. I have been playing a TM Qi10 5w for a few months and have to try hard to hit a draw with it, which I have come to really love the stock high fade I’ve been hitting with it. FWIW I switched for the same reason. I was playing a Ai smoke TD 5w and would hit an occasional 265 yd draw/hook when I was expecting a 250-255 yard shot. The Qi10 is higher spin but has been so much more consistent for me.”
- alexc93: “Ping G430/G440 in flat setting is your answer.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

1.5 shots per round is hilarious. You know that guy is leaking strokes all over.
