Ping G440 K arrives on USGA conforming list
While the apparent debut of TaylorMade’s 2026 driver lineup (Qi4D) on the USGA’s conforming list Monday garnered the lion’s share of headlines, there was another big dog of note joining the…dog park of conforming dogs? Like, when a park has two dog areas, one for big dogs and another for small? Anyways: the Ping G440 K, that’s what we’re talking about here.
While a G440 configuration has succeeded every model in the Ping G430 lineup, the Ping G430 Max 10K — originally released in January — is still in the current Ping lineup. This looks like it will be changing soon, however, with the G440 K landing on the conforming list yesterday.

Doubtless, this will be the ultra-high MOI offering in the G440 lineup, and interestingly, unlike the G430 Max 10K, the G440 K is equipped with a movable weight.
Rumor has it that a few may be in play this week on various tours, and of course, we offer the usual disclaimers here: No tech nor release info available at present, and we’ll update you when we know more.
Our friends at SMS on Tour got an in-hand look at the club overseas, however.

As a refresher, “10K driver,” broadly refers to a driver with a total moment of inertia (MOI) approaching or reaching 10,000 g-cm, which is the the theoretical limit set by the USGA for forgiveness. Generally speaking, the greater the MOI measurement, the greater a driver’s resistance to twisting on off-center hits, thus producing straighter-flying drives. 2024 saw the release of the TaylorMade Qi10 Max, Ping G430 Max 10K, and Callaway Ai Smoke Max D.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
