This fairway wood is slowly becoming my favorite club in the bag – GolfWRXers discuss
In our forums, our members have been discussing TaylorMade’s Qi10 Tour fairway wood. WRXer ‘launcher’ kicked off the thread by asking fellow members for their feedback on the club, who have been sharing their positive reactions in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Kshelton_pga: “Have the Qi10 Tour 6-wood and love everything about it. Looks, sound, feel, and performance.”
- LeicaRedDot: “I put the 5-wood into play a few months ago. Slowly becoming my favourite club in the bag. It’s an excellent club.”
- ty_guy: “It’s a very strong club. I see about 10 more yards from the Qi10 Tour vs the Paradym TD 5 woods. Love or hate, the face is very tall. Some lies it feels awkward hitting off the turf, but as a tee club it really shines. I’m new to the Taylormade wood family and would like to compare it to the Qi10/Qi35 core models. I tried the Max head and it felt way too large. Weight forward, it has become my go to tee club for tighter fairways when I don’t feel like bringing a Mini Driver. Right now it is fighting against my Apex UW for that spot. I’m leaning 3w in the Qi Tour and keeping the Apex UW for shots off the turf.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
