What new golf related purchase in 2025 has brought you the most joy? – GolfWRXers discuss

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing the products they bought in 2025 that have given them the most joy. WRXer ‘Rory4Pres’ kicks off the thread, saying:

“I switched from a Ventus red Velocore 6S to a 5S and have really enjoyed it.  It’s provided me a higher ball flight so I can now play a variety of knockdown shots again that I haven’t been able to play the past few years.  It’s also been easier to turn over into a nice baby draw with plenty of roll out.

What new golf purchase have you bought this year that has brought you some enjoyment and why?”

And our members have been sharing their top products of 2025 in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • phizzy30: “Got a Diamana BB that I’ve been swapping back and forth with my trusty AD VF.  Sure it’s gotta wider dispersion pattern because of how different the feel is, but I ain’t gonna complain about getting an extra 2-5 mph more ball speed.  That is until I start spraying them OB all over the course, lol.”
  • eddiebigeddie: “I have 2 so far…the Mizuno 925 Forged Black with MMT 105’s I’ve been throwing darts so far. The other club equally important is the DS Adapt Max-K. In the fairway a lot more and makes the game easier from there.
  • AdExec: “I went from T100S irons and SM9 and wedges to ZXI7 and Mizuno T1 wedges and the improved feel has been one of the most substantial differences Ive ever felt in golf clubs between sets.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
