Spotted: Callaway Elyte Mini Driver
No one will argue that mini drivers are not one of the hottest golf equipment categories right now! Callaway gave us one last year with the Paradym Ai Smoke Ti 340. Now, it looks like the players on the PGA Tour are getting their hands on a new Elyte Mini. Callaway isn’t dishing out the details on this mini driver yet, but it looks to carry a lot of the same technology as the Elyte line of drivers.

First off, we can see that the sole shot looks similar to the Elyte drivers with the movable weights in the back for adjusting the head for a neutral, fade, or draw ball flight. A forward sole weight is also there for dialing in the spin and launch on the head. It looks like you can easily swap out either weight for a heavier or lighter one in order to really fine-tune those settings. The sole also looks to be all titanium like the Elyte, Elyte X, and Elyte Max Fast drivers. Callaway brought over the Ai 10x face technology from the drivers and the Mini should have improved performance with ball speed and dispersion compared to the Ai Smoke Ti 340 from last year.

Callaway’s Thermoforged Carbon Crown makes its way onto the Elyte Mini as well for reducing weight while still providing strength. It will be interesting to hear the full details on the Elyte Mini but we can definitely assume that it will pack some serious firepower like its driver siblings.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Why are all these mini divers such high loft?!?
It’s a driver. Please just make a 9 degree version already!

Or just call it a 2-wood?
Are these mini drivers high loft drivers or low loft fairway woods?
Double duty, maybe?
