Titleist announces limited-edition T-Series Black irons
As it has done with previous T-Series irons, Titleist is giving golfers the opportunity to take a trip to the dark side. The company’s limited-edition T-Series Black irons feature a durable Titanium Carbide Vapor finish, offering a darker, smudge-resistant look across all four models: T100, T150, T200, and T350.

Titanium Carbide Vapor Finish: Provides a darker, more durable appearance.
Refresher on the four T-Series models as Titleist frames them
- T100: Precision, control and unrivaled feel, preferred by elite ball strikers.
- T150: The faster tour iron offering precision, forgiveness, and added distance.
- T200: Players distance iron combining clean looks with power and trajectory control.
- T350: Game improvement iron delivering high launch and maximum forgiveness.
Emphasis on blended sets: Designed to optimize performance throughout the bag, T-Series irons are crafted with seamless transitions between models. Approximately 80% of Titleist players on the PGA TOUR utilize blended sets, which highlights the importance of custom fitting.

Cam Smith on his T-Series Black irons
“I’ve used the black finish since the AP2’s came out, I can’t remember how long ago,” said Smith, who won the 150th Open Championship with a set of T100 Black irons. “I think for me just how they look, looks like a tighter finish line on top. They also look a little bit smaller, so I feel like you kind of have to concentrate a little bit more to see it.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
